The driver will report to you at the start of the Day Hire for instructions on what goods to deliver. If feasible (taking into account weight, volume and time), the driver can also arrange to collect goods en route to deliver back to you.
The driver will return your paperwork to you at the end of their Day Hire, where you will then be asked to sign a PDA to confirm receipt of completed delivery notes and any collections. Additionally, you can email or fax any notes to our control centre, which we forward to the driver’s PDA, providing live electronic proof of delivery “as it happens”.
We can also usually help out with any additional collections or deliveries, which is particularly useful should a driver on hire to you get delayed at a delivery or collection point. We can arrange for one of our nearby vehicles to meet the delayed vehicle, in order to relieve some of the workload (deliveries or collections) and therefore keep to schedule.
